9.00 am "Media Magic 1" - presenter Brian Bollen
The Theory: what the media want, why they want it, when they want it, how
can we give it? The recent transmission of The Speaker on BBC 2 thrust
public speaking firmly into the spotlight, creating a unique opportunity
to generate media coverage for Toastmasters International in District 71
at club, area, division and district level. In his high octane interactive
workshop 'Media Magic' Brian Bollen, who led the impromptu PR campaign
launched in February and now drawing to a close, advises on how to carry
on profiting from the momentum generated.

Session 5
10:00am "Media Magic 2" - presenter Brian Bollen
The Practice: a series of mock interviews with volunteers from the
audience, designed to sharpen the focus on what TI is, how it can help
people, and possible pitfalls that can trip people if they're trying to
explain it. In an entertaining and useful workshop Brian Bollen
demonstrates with the help of his co-presenters how an interviewer who is
well intentioned can derail an interview, and how a mischievous
interviewer can do the same, but even more so.
