| What Happens at Meetings |
Members support each other, learn from each other and start speaking in front of a group of sympathetic people.
Everyone who wants one is given a role at the meeting . This could be as the speech timekeeper, the sergeant at arms or the person monitoring good use of language.
We usually start with impromptu speeches, called table topics.
Then we have a well-earned tea or coffee break.
After the break we concentrate on more formal speeches that are prepared and rehearsed from a speech manual.
There is no right and wrong, nor pass and fail but everything we do is evaluated by fellow club members so that speakers receive a fellow member's opinion on what they did really well and what could be improved next time.
Why not come to our next meeting?
We would love to meet you! You can just turn up, see what we do, and enjoy the evening.
It is completely up to you whether you choose to talk, sit back and listen or subsequently join.
Bicester Speakers meet twice a month on the first and third Thursday of the month.
The meetings start promptly at 19.30 and finish at 21.45.
Arrive early to meet friends and network.
