| Welcome |
| Scotland's Newest Club |
Dundee Toastmasters is Scotland's newest club and part of the world wide organisation of Toastmasters International. A organisation that is dedicated to improving members communication and leadership skills. It is a clear fact that our members all improve their self confidence which is achieved in a warm and friendly environment.
We look forward to seeing you at our Demonstration Meeting which will be held in the Swallow Hotel, Kingsway West, Dundee, DD2 5JT. We will start at 7.00pm. You are very welcome to come along and see for your self how we operate our meetings. We have members from all over Scotland attending who all at one time took that nervous step over the door to conquer that major fear of speaking in public and found a supportive and safe environment to over come that fear.
I look forward with my other Toastmaster friends to welcoming you on the 14th of January, 2008 as you start on one of your goals for 2008 to conquer the fear of Public Speaking. |

Have you discovered Toastmasters yet ?
Are you finding Toastmasters an inspiring experience.
If you are looking to break out of something old and into something new and have not yet discovered Toastmasters we will welcome you. Please visit any of our clubs in Area 43 where we will give you a very warm welcome. We have clubs in Inverness, Dundee, Aberdeen and Findhorn&Forres.
It's all about finding your voice, becoming the speaker and leader you can be and of course becoming inspired when speaking
If I can help you in any way please get in touch with me or any of the club officers in Area 43.
I would encourage all current members to visit other clubs within and without the area as may be possible as this always provides great ideas.
Together with our Division E Governor Phil Heath, and District 71 Governor Teresa Dukes we plan to serve you as best we may.
Kind Regards
Kes Smith

A Welcome to Division E
Phil Heath DTM
This years theme is about inspiring people - people from all walks of life - inspiring them as individuals to become better speakers and communicators. Previous Division Governors Jim, Michael and Jane have inspired me to take on the challenge this year. To try and become a better leader, to offer my support to the members of Division E to do the best they can this year.
I believe that the key to our Divisional success will be in the hands of the individual member - whether they want to deliver a powerful oratory from the professional stage or whether as a shy, quiet person they want to learn how to use their voice in a way that they can be heard. To me the power of Toastmasters is unending, we are all learning from each other and I believe that the support we give in a friendly, unthreatening environment, the coaching and feedback is probably the most powerful inspiration we can give.
Think not just of speaking but how you can also give back to others by effective evaluations, by joining in the meeting organisation or by being a club officer - in other words - giving others the benefit of your leadership.
Leadership involves ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Inspiring members to strive to achieve the highest award they can during the Toastmaster year, both on the Communication and the Leadership tracks. It involves motivating the Clubs to achieve the highest award they can on the Distinguished Club programme, and set out the plans for the year to achieve those goals. Finally, it involves me as the Divisional Governor lending my support to the Area Governors in their quest for their Clubs to be the most successful they can be.
Division E is still the largest in District 71, and the fastest growing. I would like to see the hard work that all of you as members and visitors to our clubs up and down the country (literally!) is recognised this year. We can be the best - making sure that Clubs are strong and vibrant, and the number of newly chartered Clubs continues to grow at an increasing rate. I also believe that we should have fun while we do this.
So my challenge goes out to you all. Do your best - the very best you can achieve. Recognise that Toastmasters can play a valuable part in all of our lives. Tell as many people as possible and share this experience. Inspire others as you want to be inspired yourself and have a great year.
Your friend in Toastmasters
Phil Heath
