Welcome
Welcome to Area 14
Congratulations! You are in a great geographical location for joining the wonderful world of Toastmasters. We are a thriving area with 5 established clubs and 1 pre-charter club. All the clubs are friendly and would love a visit from you. In fact, they are so popular that lots of our current membership are currently joined up at more than one club.

Whether you are looking to attend a meeting on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday we have a club which can meet your needs. Meetings on weekends can be arranged but usually involve more socialising than speaking.

Please click on the link to the left to find out more about your nearest club.

Best wishes

Samantha Babister
Area 14 Governor

Division H is having a very exciting year!
This year is a very exciting year in Division H. Many new things are happening and building on the great achievements in Division H last year.

We are continuing to grow new clubs across the Division and there is a fascinating and useful magazine website with lots of information, contact details and tools.

Please take a look at www.southeastspeakers.co.uk for more information.

I look forward to seeing you there

Chris Howell
Division H Governor
2009-2010

Message from the District Governor
For 2009-2010 the D71 theme is Find Your Voice.

Im sure many of you remember your first Toastmaster meeting. The fear of the unknown perhaps? Will they pick on me to speak? I want to say something but Im too afraid of the sound of my own voice. Like myself and many others you may never have been given a real opportunity to find your voice until you attended your first Toastmasters meeting.

As an organisation the idea of helping people to put their thoughts, desires and opinions into words and speak them in front of others is the very cornerstone of Toastmasters International. Through the skills we develop in Toastmasters we learn to communicate better with those around us, develop leadership skills we didnt know we had and grow stronger in our personal and professional relationships.

Giving more people the opportunity to find their voice, is what drives many of the objectives we work with as a District Leadership Team of Club Committees, Area Governors, Division Governors and members of the Executive.
    - Its why we want to increase our membership and grow new clubs
    - Its why we want to recognise and encourage achievement through communications and leadership awards
    - Its why we want to ensure quality training for our leaders throughout the District.

As leaders within this great organisation you are key to all of the above. Don't underestimate what you can achieve and how much of an impact your efforts throughout this year can have on developing new skills and above all in helping others to develop theirs, overcome fears and find their voice.

I look forward to working with you in the year ahead and hope that I and the other members of the Executive can serve you well and ensure D71 continues to grow and also help you Find your Voice

Joe Gibbs

D71 District Governor
